With love, your Bohemia Apartments Prague
If european cities were a necklace, Prague would be a diamond among the pearls.
In the night of Earth Hour 2012, we members of Bohemia Aparatments switched the lights in our apartments off and went for a walk to the Prague city centre.
Vysehrad, Zizkov, both Town Halls, Dancing House, Charles Bridge and other Prague monuments made Prague be part of the idea. It made us proud!
Look how did it look like!
(we didn’t take the photos)
PRAGUE IS JOINING THE EARTH HOUR 2012
Tonight, on 31st March 2012, more than 5251 cities and towns across the world, including Prague and other Czech cities, will be joining WWF, to switch off lights in their homes, apartments, work offices for one hour.
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change.
Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.
Prague for the first time joined the event in 2010 and soon was followed by other Czech cities.
We, members of the Bohemia Apartments Prague team are going to join the event by switching the lights in our office and our homes and to go for a walk around the Prague City centre, to see if something happens with the iconic buildings and privat apartments here.
Which building in Prague you think should be switched off as a symbol of this event?
Amazing video mapping at Old Town Square in center of Prague
When you travel to Prague, feel free to ask Bohemia Apartments Prague not only for an accommodation but also about events and what’s going on around. There is always something that worth to see! For example this awesome video mapping that was organized for 600 anniversary of Prague astronomical clock.
Prague Orloj is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still working.
